Ouroboric Idealism

The Refutation of Materialism written by Felipe Bautista Under no circumstances whatsoever is it difficult or challenging to refute materialism, principally because materialism entails a contradiction in terms: namely, materialism entails transcendental realism, the belief in the continued existence of objects after they no longer appear to the senses ( cf. Kant’s Critique of the Fourth Paralogism). In his Treatise of Human Nature , Hume wrote that “To begin with the senses, ’tis evident these faculties are incapable of giving rise to the notion of the continu’d existence of their objects, after they no longer appear to the senses.
